At Cann Legal Group, LLC, our area of practice is in Corporate and Immigration Law.

We take pride in providing quality legal services, including frequent case management updates and the availability of an experienced attorney and multiple translators for Chinese and Spanish-speaking clients. Attorney/Member

Denise S. Cann, Attorney at Law

Ms. Cann is the founder and managing attorney of the Cann Legal Group, LLC.

She earned her baccalaureate of arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

After earning her degree in political science, she was a Teacher of English as a Second Language for two years in Taiwan. While there, she attended Feng Chia University's intensive Chinese language study program. She is proficient in spoken and written Mandarin.

Upon her return to the United States in 1996, Ms. Cann attended law school at the University of Maryland. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 1999 and is admitted to the Maryland Bar. Ms. Cann is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Ms. Cann has held a variety of positions in the legal field, including, but not limited to being a legal editor/writer for two of the largest legal publishing companies in the United States: Lexis-Nexis and the Bureau of National Affairs (Media Law Reporter and U.S. Patents Quarterly).

Wen C.W. Lee, Attorney at Law

Ms. Lee is an attorney licensed to practice in Maryland.  She represents clients in matters of Civil and Criminal litigation and International legal matters which includes immigration and business transactions.

Ms. Lee graduated from the University of Maryland with an Economics degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Baltimore.  She received her Juris Doctor degree from University of Maryland School of Law.

Prior to her legal career, she worked in international import/export industry and stocks/security trading market.  During her law school years, investment immigration (EB5) was once her internship focus besides international research as she worked for a prominent international institute. 

Ms. Lee clerked for Baltimore City Circuit Court right after graduation and before she consulted in the field of International Regulatory matters.  Now, she has expanded and combined her business and legal background and started the legal practice in the area of civil and criminal litigation and international legal matters.  She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.

Patricia Z. Anyaegbunam, Immigration Specialist

Mrs. Anyaegbunam has a diverse educational background. Graduating with a Baccalaureate Degree in Zoology from the University of Ife in Nigeria, she later obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos.

 

Upon graduation, Mrs. Anyaegbunam joined the Nigerian Immigration Services where she worked for 17 years. She later became a Chief Immigration Officer until she resigned to join her husband in the United States.

 

In addition to being an immigration specialist with Cann Legal Group, LLC, Mrs. Anyaegbunam is currently obtaining her Masters Degree in Legal Ethics from the University of Baltimore.

 

Well-traveled, Mrs. Anyaegbunam is an international entrepreneur. As an attendee of exclusive international tradeshows in Hong Kong and China, Mrs. Anyaegbunam has successfully opened several clothing stores.

Marie Tirakis, Spanish Immigration Liaison

Ms. Tirakis is a Spanish translator for the Cann Legal Group. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland - College Park, where she earned her baccalaureate of science degree in International Business and received a certificate in Business Spanish.

Upon graduating, she joined Marriott International, Inc. where she was thrust into the international business environment as a Senior Program Specialist responsible for risk management insurance. Following her employment with Marriot International, Ms. Tirakis was employed as an Assistant Client Manager with the international brokerage firm, Willis of Maryland, Inc.

As a diverse person from a Greek and Ecuadorian lineage, Ms. Tirakis has had the opportunity to travel worldwide, including, but not limited to studying in Ecuador, where she was able to draw from her professional experience in international risk management, insurance, translation, Latin American affairs, hospitality and lodging.

 

Liliana Fletcher, Multi-Euro Language Professional

Mrs. Fletcher is a professional language expert specializing in European languages. Originally from Naples, Italy, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Foreign Languages and Literature with specialized concentration in the following languages: English, German, and Spanish. Mrs. Fletcher is also fluent in French, which she acquired from post-graduation courses.

As a graduate with a multitude of language proficiencies, Mrs. Fletcher became an instructor in the English and German languages. While an instructor in Italy, she was commissioned by a number of Italian Universities, Medical Doctors and Artists to translate and tutor.

In late 1990s, Mrs. Fletcher visited the United States and instantly fell in love with the country. She was ultimately offered employment by a U.S. petitioner and began her first experience with the immigration process through employment-based immigration. Her first-hand experience with immigration procedure has assisted in her empathetic feeling towards others experiencing the process for the first time.

The multicultural environment of the United States continues to be a constant stimulus to Mrs. Fletcher's desire to learn more about other cultures. This has fired her desire to travel abroad to other countries - there, she is able to delve into local lifestyles of the natives where she continues to accumulate more knowledge of her passion for languages.
